DIFI Participated in the First Forum of NGOs in the Gulf

DIFI participated in the First Gulf Forum on the Assessment of the Performance of NGOs in Development, sponsored by Dr. Fatima Mohammad Al-Balushi, Minister of Social Development, in December 2014 in Bahrain.

The Forum was attended by representatives of the Executive Bureau of GCC Ministers of Social Affairs' Council and Ministries of Social Development in GCC. The Forum discussed the performance of NGOs and assessed their role in community development. The Forum was organized in implementation of the decision made at the 30th Session of the Executive Bureau of GCC Ministers of Social Affairs' Council held in October 2014 in Manama, Bahrain.

The Doha International Family Institute (DIFI), formerly known as Doha International Institute for Family Studies and Development (DIIFSD), was established by Her Highness Sheikha Moza Bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development in 2006. The Institute has special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UNECOSOC).
